My sculptural journey began when I was eight years old, creating ‘mud mice’ on the building-site of our family home. Here my love of natural materials was formed. Those ‘mice’ led to a Visual Arts degree, years abroad travelling and living in New York, California and Hawaii. In those years of exploration and family-making, clay found me again. I am now based at the aptly named ‘Mud Studios’ in Auckland, New Zealand where I explore the depth, tactility and endless, expressive potential of clay once more.
